Famous for being the fastest waterski race in the world, the 100km course sees the quickest boats completing the distance in a little over 30 minutes.
That is an average speed of over 190kph, and top speed can exceed 200kph. Some of the boats are capable of speeds even faster than that, but there is a limit to how fast you can go when towing two water skiers!
The event is fully catered, although you can of course just find a nice comfortable spot on the river somewhere along the course and bring you own refreshments. But the start/finish line is where all the action is… located at the Mildura ski club.
Things kick off on Good Friday in Langtree Ave with the Johnson’s Truck Show ‘n Shine, 9am to 1pm. The main boat and river events start at 8.30am at the Mildura Ski Club . The main event is on Sunday starting at 9am… this is when you will see the quickest boats.
