Apex Park

This has to be as nice a spot for a caravan park as you will find anywhere. A dead end road means no passing traffic, and the best sand beach on the Murray is an added bonus.

Apex is large – 26 acres and full of mature red gums, so even with a lot of campers the place doesn’t feel crowded.

The beach at Apex Park

I didn’t see a pool when I visited, but with such fantastic swimming in the river right on your doorstep, who’s complaining? I was told you can hire a small “tinnie” here, and with excellent fishing in this area, that is a great option for those that want to chase a Murray Cod. About a kilometer downstream from the camp is one of my favourite fishing spots.

While I am yet to land a Murray Cod there, I can say with some authority that they are there. I have hooked one, and can tell you that trying to land a large cod that is determined to get back to his snag, while using 6kg breaking strain line, will only end in tears!
